DIVA Challenge #205 Year of the Goat
In the Chinese Zodiac 2015 is the Year of the Goat, so the DIVA challenge this week is to use something related to the Chinese New Year in your tile. I did a Google search and found this interesting goat, that my husband said was an Ibex, when he saw my tile. So then I had to do a Google search on that, and he knows his stuff, as always, he's so smart. Anyway, back to the tile, I drew a rough sketch of the goat and then decided to just use the tangle Printemps around it. I wanted to use a darker red pen, but as you can see, I ran out of ink and had to switch to a lighter red. I was too lazy to do it over with the same color. Then I used a red colored pencil to shade. So it is what it is, a funky looking Ibex.

Actually, I like the subtle change in color. I also used printemps (or a version there of without the sparkles) for part of my goat tile background. Great minds....... (I wonder if your husband could specifically identify the goat on my tile. I'm not sure it occurs in nature ;-)
ReplyDeleteI like your goat tile! My husband said it may be a fantasy goat because he is not sure if there are any goats with forward curling horns, but then again, he said he 's not a goat expert. LOL!
DeleteBeautiful goat silhouette and a lovely Printemps background!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the shading you did. I too used Printemps. Seemed very "goaty" to me. :)
ReplyDeleteLove those beaut curling horns Sue!
ReplyDeleteWow, I like this one a lot!!!!
ReplyDeleteNice tile!
ReplyDeleteNice design! The Chinese word for the year's animal is sort of non-specific about the species, I hear. It just refers to the horns, and yours are magnificent! The swirling printemps in the background remind me of smoke from fireworks, so this is a very festive image indeed!
ReplyDeleteHere's to the year of the Ibex!
