ABOUT ME

Welcome to my blog!

I have had a love of drawing for as long as I can remember,  and many other arts and crafts that I have dabbled in over the years while working and raising my family.
I discovered the art method of Zentangle in 8/2009 and retired from a career with the Federal Government of 36 years in 5/2010. I received a Zentangle kit for Christmas in 2009 and there was no turning back! I absolutely love this relaxing art method and what it has done for me.  I have received so many compliments on my work that it encouraged me to continue learning more about this wonderful art. My passion for Zentangle prompted me to attend the certification workshop in October 2010. As a CZT, Certified Zentangle Teacher, I love to teach this art method to others. A big "Thank You" to Maria Thomas, Rick Roberts, and the entire Zentangle family for sharing this gift with me and the world! Also, for all of their inspiration, encouragement, and hugs! I was introduced to Alcohol Inks by a friend and fellow CZT, Pat Mathes, in 2016. Thanks, Pat!
I fell in love with working with this medium and decided to pursue learning more about these inks.  I took a 6 week online class in July 2017 with Alexis Bonavitacola, an artist who's work I really admired.  I learned so many techniques for working with the inks, received so much inspiration, and encouragement to take my art to the next level.  As a result of this class, I created a website, updated my business plan, and plan to market my work in the near future. I can't thank Alexis enough for her inspiration, guidance, and encouragement! (www.alexisbonavitacola.com)
I hope to pursue my love of each of these "ink" arts on their own, and what I can create by blending the two together!

Of course, none of this would be possible without the encouragement, love, and support from my best friend and husband, Doug, and my two adult  daughters, Samantha & Lindsay.
