DIVA challenge #164 "Amanda (Earth) Day"
This is the 3rd Earth Day Challenge from the DIVA that I have participated in. This year I was in the mood to draw flowers, leaves, and all those beautiful things of spring. So, I let Jane Monk's e-book, One Tangle, Volume III, "Field of Flowers" be my inspiration for this tile. Jane is a fellow CZT4 from down-under (Australia), an incredible artist and quilter, and the author of 3 e-books titled, One Tangle. You can find the information on purchasing her e-books at her website here. Thanks for the inspiration, Jane! Thanks as always for the challenge, Laura!

This is gorgeous. I almost always tend to stick with black and white, I added color this week, but nothing like this. This is just beautiful! What did you use? Watercolors? Markers? The depth is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kelly! I used Tombow markers (which are water based) and did a wash of blue in the circle. Then I just used the markers direct to the tile for the other colors.
DeletePretty - with lovely flora!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tile, Sue and the colours are incredible, a real pleasure for the eye. I too like Jane's work - she's so clever! Axxx

ReplyDeleteLove your happy and colorful tile :)
ReplyDeleteIt sure is pretty to dabble in color once in a while. Beautiful tile.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work. Like the colors. The blue wash makes this remind me of an aquatic theme.
