DIVA Challenge 281 ING

This week's challenge from the DIVA, is to use the official tangle, ING. This tangle has been out for awhile, but like Laura it is one I rarely use. That's what I love about these challenges, they make you try tangles you never or rarely use. I used a pre-strung tile and did ING around the border with some Printemps, and Tipple. When I added it to the center with a white gel pen, it begged for color, so I used Metllic gel pens to fill in the triangle shapes. I think it gives it a stained glass look. I am liking ING a little more now....lots more possibilities! Have a good week. I am camping with my hubby and I hope to tangle all week, while he fishes! Retired RV life is good!

DIVA Challenge #280 RIO Olympics

The challenge from the DIVA this week is to let the Olympics inspire your tile.  I have always loved watching the Olympics, both the summer and the winter games.  Not because I am athletic myself (far from it), but I do find the games and the athletes very inspiring.  I love to listen to the stories of their families, their training, and their previous and present victories (both personal and athletic).  My favorite events to watch this year have been swimming, gymnastics, and track.  I used the Olympic rings for my tile.  I used watercolor for the rings and let it bleed a little around each one.  When it was dry I tangled.  Have a good weekend, everyone!

DIVA Challenge 279 Auraknot and Meer

One of my favorite challenges this week at the DIVA's blog, a duotangle challenge.  This is where she picks two tangles and they are the only ones you can use on your tile.  I love these challenges because they are usually tangles you normally wouldn't put together-Auraknot and Meer.
I used a rounded Auraknot and put Meer around the outside.  Hope you are all having a wonderful week

DIVA Challenge #278 Knightstar

It's another 1st Monday of the month challenge at the DIVA's blog, which means we are challenged to try a new tangle.  This one is by CZT Daniel Lamothe and it's named Knightstar.  I have never tried this tangle before, so it was a little bit of a struggle at first knowing which way to turn my tile to get the lines right.  Once I had it down it wasn't bad.  I did it as a monotangle, with a border around it. I can see how you could do a lot of variations with this tangle, but it may be difficult to do in anything but a square large grid (for me anyway).  Thanks for the challenge!
