DIVA Challenge #239 Munchin Play & INKtober Day 15

Doing the double duty posting again!  Using this post for both the DIVA challenge and INKtober Day 15.  This week is a fun challenge using Molly Hollibaugh's tangle, MUNCHIN!  Looks like I have been approaching this tangle in the wrong way, until I saw Molly's video.  Now it makes it soooooooooo easy!  Make sure you take the time to watch Molly's video!  I wanted to use the black tiles too, but instead of a white pen I tried a couple of different pens.  Here's what I did.....

On this first one I used Sakura's gelly roll MOONLIGHT pens in blue and light green.  I went back and covered a triangle shape in black over the top....love the dramatic look to doing that!

Then I tried a Sakura gelly roll METALLIC pen in gold.  I found that it was hard to cover the the Metallic pen with black, so I went in with the gold pen and outlined the black area.....kind of like that.

I really liked how the Metallic pens sparkled and illuminated the black tiles, so I did another one with a lot of different colors.  I did not blacken any areas, but I added some little puffs to some of the tips with the Zenstone.

All three side-by-side.....

Thanks for the great video, Molly!  I have a new love of Munchin!  Thanks for the challenge, Laura! Love those boys of yours and their school pics!

  1. I love these. Somehow they remind me of those screen savers you used to get on old computers where more and more liens appear.

  2. Sue, I love how you experimented with the various pens on the black. I think my favorite is the one with the puffy tips. BTW, I used one of your tangles, Zazzy, in my TNTM challenge. Thanks!
