In my tile I used Golven for the lake (since it means waves) and the mountain on the left is Fife, to symbolize all the beautiful wildflowers, the mountain in the middle with Flux and Tipple symbolize the winter snow, and the mountain on the right is Hollibaugh to symbolize all the hiking trails. The heart in the lower right corner is for all the hearts you see around town (Loveland). This place is plastered with hearts in the month of February. The lower left corner is Finery...just for more outdoor beauty. Last but not least, is Ahh to symbolize the stars you can see while in the mountains at night.
SIDE NOTE: I am sure most of you have seen on the news that we have a large wildfire (High Park Fire) burning west of Ft Collins, with 250 plus homes lost and only 45% contained. We have had temperatures in the 100"s with no relief or rain in sight. In Estes Park, 21 homes were lost due to a fire on Saturday (that one is contained). Now there are other fires around the state too. Not a good summer for Colorado! Please keep the firefighters and families who have lost their homes in your thoughts and prayers.
I have been watching closely the fires for they are plaguing us too...with temps and dryness about the same as you are having. Your lake and the loveliness of the greens are more than we have but yeah our stars make you say ahhh.... every time! Your tile is so beautifully done! The thought you gave it is as beautiful as the tile is. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove your interpretation of your home! Prayer sent for relief from the fire...rain...help for the firefighters...safety for the homes in the area and of course for the people.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful zentangle! Praying about the fires. My step-son and his family live in the Longmont area and I lived close to Boulder for about 14 years. Now I'm in Minnesota. Praying for rain!!
ReplyDeleteI like your zentangle-Zia very much and afcourse your story where you live!
ReplyDeleteLoveland....that's the best name! It must look fabulous in Feb. Sorry to hear about the fires.
ReplyDeleteGreat tile Sue.
Your tile is beautiful! I am a Colorado native (displaced) and this touched my heart...just lovely and so carefully conceived. The daily news of the fires is so sad.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work!
ReplyDeleteMy thought are with all the men and the families trying to save what's to be saved!
This is a beautiful tile! THanks for showing us a photo too, it's so nice to see where everyone lives.
ReplyDeleteWonderful tile. I love the patterns you chose to represent your home town. Lucky you to live there!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mountains and water. I totally see Colorado in your tangle. Good work!
ReplyDeleteI love your tile. And I'm so sorry to hear about the fires. I hope and pray they can be brought under control soon without any more loss.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great, thoughtful tile! Your pic is beautiful. I've always wanted to visit Colorado. Praying for rain:)
ReplyDeleteWe live in Texas...had a terrible drought/wildfires last year...so I can really relate to what is going on in Colorado...we love the mountains..the aspens...all the beauty of Colorado...love your tile...very thoughtfully created!
ReplyDeleteI love your choice of tangles to represent your home. I hope and pray that the fires are contained soon.
ReplyDeleteSue, sending prayers about the fires. Love your tile and the thoughtfulness behind it as well.
ReplyDeleteColorado is such a beautiful state. I love your interpretation of it; and thanks for sharing about the fires. It will generate a great deal of prayer.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tile, and I love hearing about your "home". Also appreciate your thoughts and prayers for the firefighters and people who have lost homes - you are the best!
ReplyDeleteA really wonderful tile. I like the choice of your tangles that fit with the description of your home. When you first mentioned the area where you live I thought that you might be threatened. I know I will be wishing all is well with everyone involved and hope those who lost their homes and precious possessions will find the road to recovery.
ReplyDeleteYour tile representing Loveland is so creative. I read your description to my husband, and he was impressed. We would love to move there. We just left Denver after visiting our kids and witnessed the fire in Boulder from afar as it began and grew. My heart breaks for all who are suffering the devastation from so many fires- people and wildlife.
ReplyDeleteYour tile is wonderful and fits the challenge so very much.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to your fires. Our whole town of Fallbrook, CA had to be evacuated about 5 yrs. ago. A lot of houses were lost. We had no damage but the evacuation with 6 cats and a dog was a little stressful. Nothing like what a lot of other people here and in your state have gone, through. I'm glad you're alright.
