DIVA Challenge #210 Spiral String
This week the DIVA has us using a spiral string for our challenge. I always love a spiral string, but I decided to do something a little different. Instead of drawing one big spiral string I started (without planning) with Chainging going around in a spiral, until I didn't have any more room. Then I did the same with Beadline, and last with XYP. Turned out kind of plain, but I decided to leave it like it is.

A Gift for Mike
This was a gift for my brother Mike. I used a template from the Facebook group, Ornation Creation for the deer, and added the rest. If you haven't been there yet, it is a pretty cool group with a lot of animal and other templates posted for everyone's use. Lots of amazing and inspiring work posted there!

Tangled Coffee Filters
Last Sunday we had a wonderful meeting with 9 CZT's from Colorado. It was really fun to just get together, talk, share ideas, and we had a great pot luck lunch. Some of us took some time to experiment applying watercolor on coffee filters for tangling on when dry. I took my home and got it done the other night. If I did it again, I would use a lot lighter color for a softer background.

DIVA Challenge #209 Saint Patty's
At the DIVA's challenge this week in honor of St. Patrick's Day we are to challenged to "green up our tiles". I didn't do a St. Patrick's Day theme, but I put a green wash on my tile with watercolor, and then I tangled with a green Micron pen. For some reason, I as in the mood for triangles, so I did Fassett, Phroz, Tri-po, and Munchin. Then I shaded with a colored pencil.

New Tangle: BUDZIC
I think I may have come up with a new tangle that I named BUDZIC. In this crazy tangle world of ours, I hope that it is not out there already, but I certainly can't keep track any longer. If someone has seen this before, please let me know.
BUDZIC is a very easy and organic tangle. It starts by drawing the center of the flower first, using the drawing behind concept when crossing over the tendrils. Then you add the pedals and an aura. I've used 4 pedals, but you could do more.
If you didn't want to add stems for the flower, you could do a bunch together and it could look like an "under the sea plant" too.
I will be looking forward to seeing what you do with BUDZIC!

DIVA Challenge 208 Duotangle: Cubine and Poke Root
My favorite kind of challenge from the DIVA, this week is a Duotangle. That is when you use only two tangles and they are usually ones that I don't put together, so it turns out to be a good challenge. This week it's Cubine (one of my favorites grid patterns) and Poke Root (nice and round to offset the grid). I used a couple of variations of Cubine, one with a major error (can you find it) that I made work....no mistakes!

Celtic Knot Zendala
I was inspired to create a zendala using circular celtic knots by recent pieces I have seen from CZT's, Pat Mathes and Genevieve Crabe.
I followed this video that Pat recommended: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6cNg-SGis8
For the grid I used Genevieve's mandala stencils:

Thanks Ladies, it was fun to do!

DIVA Challenge #207 UNBATZ
This week we are challenged by the DIVA to use a tangle by CZT, Sandy Hunter, named Unbatz. This was a fun little tangle pattern with lots of possibilities for variation. I did mine as a monotangle with some Tipple around the outside.
